Overview
Standard Quick-Disconnect Terminals
Providing fast and reliable connection and disconnection of two wires, fully-insulated Quick-Disconnect Terminals are available in a variety of options to meet industry requirements spanning automotive, consumer and industrial appliccations. Quick-Disconnect (QD) Terminals are constructed of tin-plated brass, per NEMA specifications, that area available insulated, non-insulated, or partially insulated. The insulators are molded vinyl (PVC), extruded nylon or molded nylon. The Quick Disconnect family consists of fully insulated male quick disconnects, Avikrimp™ fully-insulated quick disconnects, Flags and Piggyback Quick Disconnects.
Fully-Insulated Male Quick Disconnects are precision engineered, llowing the terminal to fit precisely into a femaleterminal. This "splice" may be connected and disconnected without damage to the nylon insulation.
Avikrimp™ Fully Insulated Quick Disconnects is the premium quick-disconnect terminal option. These QDs are made of a Krimptite™ terminal with a brass sleeve on the barrel, and completely insulated with molded nylon housing, providing all the benefits of an AviKrimp QD, with full insulation. Avikrimp fully-insulated quick disconnects (FIQD) are fully licensed by TUV and tested to various VDE, IEC and DIN specifications.
Flags are available in insulated and non-insulated versions and are used when there is a space constraint and a regular straight Quick Disconnect is too large.
Piggyback Quick Disconnects can be used when multiple connections (also called piggyback) are required and there are a limited number of male tabs. The piggyback allows another QD to be connected to its tab and then the piggyback is connected to a tab.
